Taste is a little different.

It’s MiLi Markets’ curated gourmet event series, celebrating great food, drink and thoughtfully made table and serving ware from WA makers, all set in one of Perth’s most loved green spaces.

Each Taste event is designed to feel considered and easy to enjoy. Rather than rows of endless stalls, the focus is on a balanced mix of producers whose flavours, aromas and presentation sit comfortably alongside one another. It’s an event that invites you to slow down, wander without a plan and let your senses guide you — following a scent that catches your attention, discovering something new, or lingering a little longer with something that surprises you.

Held at Hyde Park twice each year, Taste centres around lunchtime and encourages an unhurried pace. Entry is free, making it easy to drop in, take your time and enjoy the day at your own rhythm. It’s the kind of event where you can enjoy a long lunch under the trees, stumble across something different or exciting, and explore what’s on offer without feeling rushed.

Set beneath Hyde Park’s shady trees, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Live music drifts gently through the park across the day, adding to the mood without overpowering conversation. There’s space to sit, graze and take it all in, and with the playground nearby, families can settle in and enjoy the day together.

Taste brings together gourmet food producers, wineries, breweries and distilleries, alongside makers of tableware and food-adjacent products, all chosen with the overall experience in mind. Together, it creates a day that’s relaxed and enjoyable, with just the right mix of things to explore — including brands, flavours and ideas you may not have come across before.
